Positive Impact
Positive Impact Events is a not for profit creating a sustainable event industry since 2004. For us, sustainability means positive economic, environmental and social impacts in line with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals, and a sustainable event industry is one where every time an event happens, we see one or more of these impacts. We work with the whole event industry, including everyone within the supply chain (such as destinations, venues, event agencies and hotels) who make it possible for two or more people to connect with a shared purpose at an event. We’re creating a sustainable event industry by sharing best practice, facilitating conversations to develop industry-changing reports, as well as creating content, tools and campaigns to tell the story of the power of events.

Meet4Impact
#MEET4IMPACT is a collective and collaborative project at the crossroads of a) the mission pursued by associations and destinations in the context of association meetings and business events, and b) the creation of social value by these organizations.
The project was initiated by Geneviève Leclerc, an industry professional whose 23 years of experience in the association sector provides a global vision and comprehensive understanding of the needs and potential of this powerful and impactful sector. Geneviève had been researching meeting legacies and impact for a while and was a frequent speaker on this topic, but she realized that although the notion of impact generation is a de facto extension of the mission pursued by associations, the broader impact of their activities was most often not necessarily generated on purpose, did not usually occur by a systematic process and was rarely measured. Thus, the impact created was not well understood and could not be easily reproduced. Article Sponsored Find something for everyone in our collection of colourful, bright and stylish socks. Stoked by conversations and creative collisions around these issues, Geneviève and her business partner and friend, Jacques Blanchet, initiated the #MEET4IMPACT Project last fall. Jacques brings a solid expertise in sustainability and corporate social responsibility issues, as well as key experience with international frameworks such as ISO 26000 — Guidance on social responsibility, ISO 20121 — Sustainable events, Global reporting initiative (GRI), AA1000 and others.
Launched in February 2019, #MEET4IMPACT is a transformative experience through which the association and the business events sectors can learn and develop resilience. Through a deliberate process to create a positive impact, we aim to propose a sectorial approach for associations and destinations to do their part to further the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), thus contributing to the achievement of the 2030 Agenda for Transforming our World.
